Mr. Selby Phil Govinden, a Seychellois had prolonged hip and leg pain that disrupted his life. After undergoing medical investigations, he was diagnosed with disc degeneration.

Disc degeneration is a condition when one or more discs between the vertebrae of the spinal column deteriorate or break down, leading to pain, numbness, and weakness in the back and limbs. It is usually managed through physical therapy, medication, or surgery in severe cases. Such a condition needs special care, but at a time like the pandemic, it was even more challenging.

As his pains were deep and needed immediate medical attention, he came to MIOT International seeking advanced treatment. Due to the pandemic, access to physical therapy and medical care was limited, making it difficult for people to manage their condition. When he came to MIOT, he was immediately given the RT-PCR test, which revealed that both he and his partner were COVID-negative. He was then sent to undergo medical examinations to make sure that he was fit to undergo the planned surgery, which included a thorough evaluation of his overall health and any potential risks associated with the procedure. MIOT doctors ensured that all necessary precautions were taken to prevent any possible transmission of the virus during his stay at the hospital. He underwent the endoscopic keyhole surgery successfully, as planned, and made a full recovery.
